Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Joshua Grace
Students will:
Perform a range of dance sequences from a range of dance genres and styles
Utilise dance elements and devices to compose and choreography sequences.
Be introduced to the history and context of a chosen dance genre
View and respond to dance performances
Up to 20 credits are available in NCEA Level 1 Dance, students will complete only one external examination.
*There are 8 written literacy credits available through this course.
Prerequisites
Students who have not taken Dance in Year 10 may apply to HoD for entry into NCEA Level One.
Students who have taken Year 10 dance need at least 40 Academic Graduation Points in the course, including an ‘Achieved' grade or higher in the 10DN1 end of year exam.
