Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Simon Allen
Students will:
•Examine how the media represents different groups of people
•Study a specific film genre
•Learn the skills of close reading of media texts so they can respond to the products of others as well as their own
•Apply the knowledge they have gained about media conventions and technology and plan and create their own media production
Prerequisites
Students who wish to take the course in Year 11 should have achieved at least 65 Academic Graduation Points taken from the Year 10 English course,
including at least an ‘Achieved’ grade or higher in the end of year English Exam

A suitable laptop for editing video is recommended but no compulsory
