Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Megan Butler.

New course for 2025

The external for Level 2 Psychology is a Level 3 Social Studies external. 19 credits available.

Psychology is the study of the human mind and human behaviour. In psychology, we examine both the unusual and the everyday behaviour with the goal of understanding how it reveals the nature of the human mind. In doing so, we aim to develop a greater understanding of humanity and the issues surrounding it.

Students will:
• Critique different psychologists from history and their theories of behaviour.
• Understand different fields of psychology and analyse how they have helped shape our understanding of society.
• Explore a range of psychological approaches that attempt to explain the complexities of behaviour.
• Create a research design, conduct psychological research and analyse the results.
• Understand ideological responses to current social issues.

As this is a new course for 2025, the course content outline is still being developed.
