Course Description

Students will:
•Explore the issues of employment, trade, inflation, growth in the New Zealand economy
•Learn to define and measure these issues as well as analyse their causes and possible effects on NZ Society
•Study policies a government may use to address problems with the issues
•Gain an understanding of the interdependent nature of the economy by examining the impact government policies have on various groups and to appreciate that these may have unequal consequences
Prerequisites
At least 12 credits in Level 1 Economics (11EC1)
OR HoD approval.
