Course Description

The study of English Literature is compulsory in Year 11.

11ENE Students will:

  • Be offered a rich study of literature and language from the canon and modern literature
  • Focus on achievement with excellence in a wide range of disciplines and prepare to achieve Excellence at Level Two
  • Develop critical thinking skills and learn to apply these to unfamiliar contexts.
  • Become familiar with the conventions of a genre and show a developed understanding of the link between genre and society.


Prerequisites

A grade of Excellence is required for the Response to Text essay and the writing portfolio assessments

A minimum grade of Merit is required for all of the other internal assessments and exams in Year 10 English

OR HoF approval
