Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Michelle Farquhar.

Level 2 Economics sees students examine the operation of the New Zealand economy through a Macro-economic perspective. Major issues covered will include Inflation, Trade, Unemployment and Government Policies. Students will learn how to define and measure changes in these issues and to create models to understand relevant causes and possible effects. For each economic issue, students will be asked to examine the effectiveness of possible government actions, including Fiscal and Monetary policy.



Prerequisites

At least 12 credits in Level 1 Economics (11EC1)

OR HoD approval.
