Course Description

Students will:
• Study performance, composition, instrumentation, aural analysis of music, score reading and musical knowledge
• This course leads to Level 3
• Complete one external achievement standard to allow for course endorsement

The credits listed below are the full list of Level 2 Music standards on offer, however, students will select approximately 24 credits from the following standards

Prerequisites

At least 16 credits in Level 1 Music (11MU1), including the credits from at least one external achievement standard OR HOD approval
Evidence of a musical background in both performance and theory will have to be shown. Students must continue to have lessons on their major instrument and be part of a school music group approved by the HoD

Selected Year 10 students may be eligible to select to take this course in Year 11 with HoD approval
