Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr B. Corkery

This course teaches students the fundamentals of visual design. This includes idea development, design processes and the exploration of common design conventions.     

  • It prepares students for further study and careers in design-related fields. 
  •  The focus of the year’s work is contemporary visual design. Students will typically attempt design problems that involve corporate identity, typographic layout, graphic design, illustration or comic design.
  •  The final submission of work is presented on a three-panel portfolio or short 3 minute movie. Those submitting for Scholarship do an additional 8x A3 Pages workbook.

At least 20 credits in Level 2 Design (12DS1)
OR HoD approval
