Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Duanne Ferreira.
This course is designed for students who are likely to go on to study Mathematics and/or Statistics through to Level 3 and possibly beyond. A secure knowledge of Mathematics, in particular algebra, prior to Level 1 content is essential.
The content of this course will cover a mixture of both Mathematics and Statistics standards at Level 1 to enable pupils to become more familiar with the two disciplines to make a more informed decision of a suitable pathway into Level 2 and beyond.
Prerequisites
From Year 10MA1 - Achieved numeracy through the corequisite assessment, as well as general achievement throughout the year.
OR HoF approval.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
*11MA1* - Supplementary costs: Approx $50
Students must have their own calculator. A Scientific calculator is the minimum requirement but a Graphics calculator is preferred given that this will be required for Level 2 and Level 3 Mathematics or Statistics courses.
