Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr M. Huang

Students will:
This course is for those students who struggle with the more abstract concepts in Biology. One less standard is covered over the year when compared with 12BI1. This allows more time to be spent on the remaining standards.

Students will follow an academic course which covers genetic variation in the form of inheritance and evolutionary change and the processes that happen within a cell. 

This course leads onto the Level 3 Biology courses that are UE Approved

Prerequisites

At least ‘Achieved’ in AS90948 and ‘Achieved’ in AS90929 in the External Achievement Standards in L1 , Level 1 numeracy and literacy.

A student coming from the 11SI1 course must have gained at least a ‘Achieved’ grade in AS90948 Genetics and Achieved in one other science external paper
