Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Miss O. Markham

This course enables students to further develop their historical skills in the analysis of historical events through research, understanding and examining sources and structured essay writing.

Students will examine the causes and the course of significant events of the 20th Century. We will examine how these events and forces such as nationalism and imperialism have shaped the world and impacted New Zealand. 

Particular focus on the 20th century:  origins of WW1, the rise of Hitler, Nazism and WWII.

Prerequisites

At least 16 credits in Level 1 History (11HI1) including an ‘Achieved’ or better in AS91005 (the essay)

OR HoD Approval (Students can pick up L2 History, without having studied L1 History but must have HoD approval).
