Course Description

Students will:
•Study artworks, artists and art movements within their historical context. This University approved subject includes topics that span the Proto-Renaissance period of Fourteenth and Fifteenth Century Italy and will examine significant developments in western art history from the leading artists of this time.
This course is recommended for all students interested in studying history through art. This course will expand your skill set in critical thinking, analysis, research methodologies and the ability to articulate and communicate viewpoints. It supports university courses such as law and legal studies, visual communications, marketing and publishing to name a few. This course is also recommended for students considering Scholarship in an Art subject
Prerequisites
At least 14 credits in Level 2 Art History (12AH1)
OR at least 14 credits in Level 2 English (12EN1)
OR at least 14 credits in Level 2 English Extension (12ENE)
OR at least 14 credits in Level 2 History (12HI1),
OR at least 14 credits in Level 2 Classical Studies (12CS1)
Note: 4 of these credits must be from external achievement standards
OR HoD approval.
