Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Helen Dunham.
This course has one less standard when compared with 13BI1. This gives students more time to cover the rigorous academic content of senior biology. This also allows more time to be spent on the remaining standards and one less exam for time pressure at the end of the year.
This course is UE approved
Content covered in the course includes:
Externals (two)
Animal and plant behaviour;
Evidence supporting the theory of Human Evolution;
Internals (2)
The body system of blood glucose and Diabetes;
A written report on a socio-scientific issue of your choice.
Prerequisites
From 12BI1 or 12BI2: At least ‘Achieved’ in AS91157 L2 Genetic Variation and Achieved in ONE other L2 Biology External Achievement Standard (Cells or Gene expression).
