Course Description

Prerequisites

EITHER

Topic Test and Practice Exams: Achievement in all topic tests and practice exams AND at least one Merit in AS91157 Genetic Variation and Change

OR

External Results: At least Merit in AS91157 (Genetics Variation and Change) L2 External Exams AND at least Achieved in the other two L2 External Achievement Standards of Cells and Gene Expression from 12BI1 course. 

OR 

HoD approval.



Students will:

Follow a rigorously academic course, which covers all the Level 3 Biology achievement standards. 

This course covers the following content:

Three externals - 

Animal and plant behaviour; 

Speciation (How new species are formed); 

Evidence supporting the theory of Human Evolution;

Two internals

The body system of blood glucose and Diabetes; 

A written report on a socio-scientific issue of your choice.
